Generally speaking, bottled water is unnecessary for those of us lucky enough to live in countries with high quality tap water. Bottled water is environmentally wasteful. And (in Australia) we get fluoride in our drinking water which keeps our teeth healthy.
However, I do think it is fair enough to have bottled water in places where tap water is not safe to drink.
Buying bottled water is both unecessary (for us) and it would be better for the environment (and us) if we started drinking tap water instead since that would mean less transportation and pollution of the world. Plus, it’s cheap! Why not drink tap water? If you desperately need bubbles in your water, or flavor, it’s fully possible to make that happen from home nowadays. So let’s stop buying bottled water!
Hmmm…maybe we could create a consumption tax that would go towards providing cleaner water in some areas of the US
Or at least cut down on the amount of bottled water we buy. Mostly because it seems so silly to be buying bottled water when there’s free water all over the place.
